- Works for me My grandmother was an organic gardener - but she didn't realize it. My mom and dad didn't know any better, so they used pesticides - and suffered for it later. Fortunately, the birds eat most of the bugs in my garden - but unfortunately, they eat my honey bees, too. I'm building a greenhouse so that I can have fresh, organic food all year.
